Podcast: Waders Prairie Water Stories

Waders: Prairie Water Stories is an audio series that explores water in Southwestern Saskatchewan: the unique beauty of bodies of water in this semi-arid region, the role they play in our lives and the challenges associated with water scarcity.

In the first episode, “Searching for Shorebirds”, I speak with Lori Wilson, an expert birder who has been involved with the Chaplin Nature Centre for many years. She and Jared Clarke take our group on a road trip to the prairie pothole region and to the saline lakes of the Old Wives Watershed. In grassy ponds and salty mudflats, we meet long-legged plovers, sandpipers, dowichers, and many more migrating and resident shorebirds.

It can be heard on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music and most other podcast platforms. https://www.dominiqueferraton.ca/shorebirds.html
